about
ACSA

The Alliance of Canadian Societies of Art (ACSA) was co-founded in 1998 by :
Ernest Annau
, the then President of the RCA (The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts)
and Morton Katz, the then President of the SSC (The Sculptor's Society of Canada).

ACSA was originally created as an informal federation of art societies
to discuss strategies, deal with common problems faced by art organizations,
and to establish and codify art-related conventions. Its formation was agreed to
at a meeting, at the RCA's offices, attended by the Presidents of the:

RCA (The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts)

SSC (The Sculptor's Society of Canada)

OSA (Ontario Society of Artists)

SCA (The Society of Canadian Artists)

OCC (The Ontario Crafts Council) .

Subsequently, the ACSA Independent Artists' Registry was created to feature
society members' works, as well as those of recognized independent artists.

Through the Internet, by way of the Registry, members' talents are displayed to
potential purchasers and exhibitors, globally. In addition, the site serves as an
archive for the individual artist.
